  • Gemological testing revealed characteristics consistent with those of Natural Sapphire from:

  • Sri Lanka mines produce sapphire since ancient times, it has been well established by 1292, when Marco Polo first landed the Gem Island. To this day, it is still one of the most prominent sapphire producers in the world. The famous sapphire at the heart of Princess Diana's engagement ring is from Sri Lanka too.

  • The UV-Vis-NIR spectrum of this sapphire shows iron-related absorption at 388nm and 450nm. And the absence of broad band at 880nm helps to distinguish the environment this sapphire was formed in.

  • The 20.09 carats natural sapphire described in this report earns the color "Royal Blue", which highly esteemed by gemstone collectors. Its highly saturated blue is complemented with the ideal range of tone, which helps to better showcase the gemstone's color. Apart from its attractive color, the gemstone has great lustre.
