OUR SERVICES

We provide comprehensive, high quality analysis and testing for a variety of gemstones with natural and/or artificial origins. Our laboratory is located in a secured environment at KL Eco City, one of the most prestigious business precincts in Klang Valley, Malaysia.

Here is an overview of WHAT we do and HOW we do it.

ANALYSIS & TESTING

01

The laboratory's front-office receives the precious Gemstone and registers the customer's details. We will also do a preliminary inspection and take note of the Gemstone's description, weight, and other relevant information which will be keyed in into our secured database.

02

The assigned gemologist will clean the Gemstone to be placed under a microscope and begins a meticulous process of methodological evaluation. The Gemstone is transferred to technologically-advanced equipment that probe its every miniscule detail.

03

This process, relying on the human eye and technology, is repeated two to three times to obtain a gemstone-testing outcome that is as accurate as possible.

04

Each analytical step produces data that is systematically stored in the database to minimise human error.

05

Upon completion, the gemologist goes through the gemstone-testing outcome and ensures the data is coherent and conclusive.

06

The report is issued, with a unique serial number.*

07

Gemstone and physical copy of report are ready for collection by customer.

EYE OF TECHNOLOGY

Our state-of-the-art laboratory employs the latest in technology to deliver the most accurate report possible. Besides microscope and conventional equipment, we run these advanced gemology-testing equipment for gemstone identification, detecting treatments in gemstones and separating synthetic materials, among others.
Raman & Photoluminescence Spectrometer
  • This fully-automatic gem identification system detects most gems and imitations rapidly – typically in 20 seconds to four (4) minutes.

  • Discovers the optimal measurement parameters, acquires the spectrum and finds the best matches from comprehensive spectral libraries.

  • Able to separate synthetic materials, detect treatments and colour enhancement.

Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer
  • This mandatory tool in the modern gemological laboratory is routinely used for testing some of the most important gems such as diamond, emerald, corundrum, alexandrite, jade, amethyst, amber and turquoise.

  • Each gem species has its own library and a set of further analysis applications.

UV-VIS-NIR
  • Records gemstone's absorption spectrum at near-UV, visible and near-infrared wavelengths.

  • Main purpose for verifying natural origin of colourless diamonds, but it is also widely used in other areas such as testing fancy-coloured diamonds, sapphires, emerald, spinel, tourmaline and jadeite.

PROFESSIONAL FEE

For a professional fee, we provide our qualified opinion based on the results of advanced scientific tests, combined with the comprehensive experience and knowledge of our gemologists. Each report issued by Global Gemological Laboratory comes with a seal of reliability and authenticity. We are highly reputable and completely independent. Hence, you and your gem are safe in our qualified hands (and trained eyes).

If you are a private collector, know what you own and its worth. If you're a gemstone trading specialist (buyers and sellers alike), be confident in sealing the deal or making the gemstone purchase. Click here to contact us for a detailed testing session.
