ORIGIN INFORMATION
  • Gemological testing revealed characteristics consistent with those of Natural Star Fancy Sapphire from:
  • CountrySri Lanka
  • Sri Lanka mines produce fancy sapphire since ancient times, it has been well established by 1292, when Marco Polo first landed the Gem Island. To this day, it is still one of the most prominent fancy sapphire producers in the world.

  • As the general colorless corundum formula is aluminium oxide, the presence of trace elements will provide its color. In this stone the presence of purple color is due to the presence of chromium, it is proven by the broad band around 552 nm.

  • The natural star fancy sapphire described in this report, weighing 11.16 carats, is rare and possesses high visual quality with an attractive purple color. Furthermore, it displays a beautiful phenomenon; a fine and sharp star. This stone is free from treatment. Based on these quality traits, it deserves our special mention and appreciation.
